Why New Cars Still Need Paint Correction

Fresh from factory does not always mean perfect. New cars can still arrive with swirls, haze and poor dealership prep.

A new car should arrive with perfect paint, but that is not always what happens. Many new vehicles already have light swirls, water spotting, transport marks or dealership wash damage before the owner has even had chance to enjoy them.

The problem usually comes from rushed preparation. Cars are transported, stored outside, washed quickly and sometimes wiped down with poor methods. Even a brand new vehicle can be marked if dirt is dragged across the paint during cleaning.

Paint correction on a new car is usually not heavy correction. Most of the time it is a light refinement or Stage 1 gloss enhancement to remove haze and improve clarity before protection is applied.

This matters most when ceramic coating is being added. A ceramic coating will protect what is underneath it. If the paint is swirled or dull before coating, the final result will never look as sharp as it could.

New car detailing is about starting ownership properly. The paint is inspected, safely cleaned, lightly polished where needed and then protected so future washing is easier and safer.

At Elite Auto Detailing, new car protection packages can be built around a light polish and ceramic coating so the vehicle leaves looking better than dealership prepared.
